The äggost star mould from Flatön combines the beautiful patterns of old times with the lightweight properties of modern materials. To make äggost, special moulds are required. An äggost mould must have holes that allow the whey to run out. Traditionally the mould was made of wood, hand-cut in a beautiful pattern.
This dish originates from Bohuslän. In the southern parts of the county it is traditionally served as a dessert along with whipped cream, sugar and blackberry jam, but in the northern parts it is usually seen as a main dish or breakfast and often served with pickled herring.
The mould is packaged in a gift box.
